Tempo Toronto launches at Verity club

Tempo Toronto launched on 12 November, with a bang

It was a party. Pure and simple. And what fun we had. The important part was bringing all that positive energy together in a packed Library at the fabulous downtown Toronto club for women, Verity.

You only get one chance to launch, so you may as well do it properly. Tempo Toronto is off and running with the support of friends, family, media people and Toronto businesses who showed up in force to wish us well.

Guests were eager to register into the Tempo Toronto community, and some of the business owners were keen to find out more about our display advertising. We’re making special introductory offers for advertisers.

Watch out here for video of the event. We’re just cutting and editing and will post it soon. In the meantime, please register with us if you haven’t done so already, and we can keep you updated with new content and upcoming contests and special offers.

We had a lot of discussion about the term “Third Age” and decided that, although it’s a bit strange to us in Toronto, it’s a great description. Baby boomers, seniors, middle-aged, mature, over-fifty , ageing … all have strange connotations, and none of us wanted to be associated with that. So THIRD AGE is in use in the UK and in a lot of spanish speaking countries (tercer edad, or something similar, excusing our spanish), and we’d like to promote its use here.

Third age usually refers to 45-75, and if you think about it is really rather descriptive. So, now you understand why we have a “Third Age” section in Tempo Toronto. It’s our catch-all for all issues, ideas and innovations that are a propos for us in that third stage of our lives.

Let us know what you think.
