Toronto square dance caller and anti-aging specialist, Linda Ginou

All this in one youthful, vibrant package

Toronto square dance caller and anti-aging specialist, Linda Ginou65?? No way! Linda Ginou – gamine, youthful, age-defying and absolutely vibrant – is the person everyone wishes they could be in their mid-sixties. Apart from her grandchildren, her two most time-consuming passions are square dance calling and helping people to defy age with her international anti-aging business.

Linda is a country girl at heart. Music and dance are in her blood, as is her commitment to good nutrition and wellness. Born and raised on a farm in Dixie, Ontario, Linda square danced in her community in her youth. She had a long-term career as a teacher and mother of five children. She became Supervisor of Music in both Instrumental and Vocal Music in 1968, established her own international business in 1980, and began square dancing again in 2001.

For several years, Linda has been singing calls several times a week at various dances, classes and corporate events in the local community. She is passionate about preserving the tradition of square dancing and introducing young people to the dance. Linda is a Caller Member of the Canadian Olde Tyme Square Dance Callers’ Association, and she recently produced a book and CD with music and singing calls for self-instruction so that square dancing can be enjoyed by eight or more dancers, anytime and anywhere. In square dance circles, she is known for her singing style of calling (that means giving the crowd the correct instructions to complete the dance patterns).

For many, square dancing may be considered a dying art, but Linda is dedicated to preserving this long-established tradition. Through her Shindiggin business, she offers  customized on-site instruction, and hold dances for a wide variety of social and corporate events.

“Learning square dancing may not be on the top of most people’s activity list, but  once you put a group of eight or more people together, we can teach anyone how to square dance,” said Linda. “And the best part is that everyone, without exception, really loves the experience, old and young alike. ”

When Linda is not teaching, calling or recording, she is helping others by giving access to the NuSkin’s health and beauty products, and to mentor those interested in building their own international network marketing businesses. She is a highly visible testimonial to the efficacy of the NuSkin and Pharmanex product lines – NuSkin having cornered the market on its new ageLoc technology designed to preserve or even reverse the physical signs of ageing in the skin, and its Pharmanex line of nutritional supplements that help to address some of the issues that go on on the inside as we age.

Linda is content that she is doing all she can to preserve the art of square dance, and is wildly enthusiastic about her ‘anti-aging’ business that is growing rapidly in Toronto and internationally. Let’s hope that we all get to look so good at 65 and beyond.Linda Ginou shows some dance moves to Tempo Toronto
