Dayle Haddon: author, activist, L’Oréal spokesperson
What do you want to achieve in life from now on?
In your twenties, you are looking for the ‘big bang’. At this time in my life I’m happy with a small bump! Most of all I find I am more interested in and curious about life, the world, and my place in it. It’s more reflective. Now I am being asked to deliver how I feel and think much more than how I look. Also, I want to make a difference to my close friends, to my daughter and grandchildren, and to my community.
How have your passions and interests changed as you matured?
It’s so much less about me now, and more about the world. I am more interested in developing a fuller spiritual life for myself, to be a better mother and better person, and I read voraciously. While delving inside to find my own truth, I am balancing the inner work with having a healthy body and investigating how to get more energy.
How would you like your own story to inspire others?
I would say, “Never give up.” …times three! Whatever challenge you are going through will make you stronger. If life is not going well, instead of blaming, change some of the things you are doing, the things you can control. Learn to meditate, stay physically active, and remember that our body supports all of our dreams and wishes. Take care of it.
